Workshop: “Isolation of the Operating Field: Basics and Modern Techniques”

We invite 2nd-5th year students of the International Faculty, Dentistry program, to join an exciting hands-on practical workshop on the topic:

“Isolation of the Operating Field: Basics and Modern Techniques”

Date: November 20 and 27, 2025, at 16:15

Location: Katowice, ul. Zawiszy Czarnego 5, 1st floor, room 16

Duration: 4 hours

Format:

• Hands-on phantom practice

• Intensive practical training

Workshop Instructor:

Valeriia Karlova is a doctor of dental medicine specializing in therapeutic dentistry. She also serves as a faculty member at the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry, Periodontology, and Pediatric Dentistry at Kyiv Medical University. She has twice won the National Championship of Ukraine in the category of direct posterior restorations.

Workshop Goal:

To master the technique of isolating the operating field using a rubber dam, ensuring effective and safe treatment during caries management, endodontic procedures, and restorative work.

After completing the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the principles and advantages of dental isolation;
  • Identify indications and contraindications for rubber dam use;
  • Select appropriate clamps, frames, and dam materials;
  • Learn to apply and remove the rubber dam on phantom models;
  • Confidently use these techniques in clinical practice.
