In response to the evolving landscape of global conflict and disaster management, the WADEM (World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine) European Chapter (WADEM-EU) will host a webinar focusing on Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) and the critical lessons learned from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the Middle East. This event will emphasize a whole-of-society approach, integrating the perspectives and experiences of various sectors, including public and private medical services, defense, institutions, and emergency medical services, particularly in the context of NATO and NATO partner forces.
The webinar will explore the unique prehospital challenges that arise during LSCO, highlighting the importance of interoperability between different medical services and sectors. The discussion will be grounded in real-world experiences from Ukraine, offering insights into the complexities of providing medical care in a rapidly changing and often hostile environment.
Nowadays, every Ukrainian and every organization in Ukraine is doing everything possible to bring victory closer. Kyiv Medical University is actively involved in initiatives that serve as platforms for training future doctors in tactical medicine, prehospital medicine, and disaster medicine. We carry out these activities in collaboration with various organizations and associations that support the development of this critical field.
Today, the President of Kyiv Medical University, Dr. Oleksandr Pokanevych, will present what the University community has accomplished since the beginning of the war, as well as outline the next important steps that still need to be taken.
Join the webinar, which covers an extremely important and relevant topic, and together we will make a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian medicine and the health of our nation.
