On December 15, students of Kyiv Medical University set off on a true winter fairytale to the charming town of Zakopane.
The journey began with a walk along the legendary Krupówki Street—vibrant, lively, and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The atmosphere resembled a Christmas postcard: shops offering traditional highlander cheeses, warm woolen goods, and national souvenirs created a sense of coziness and celebration. Horse-drawn carriages added a special charm, announcing their arrival with the melodic sound of bells.
The next stage of the program was a hiking excursion to Mount Gubałówka. With every step, new breathtaking mountain views unfolded, and at the summit, a true sense of magic awaited—an awe-inspiring panorama of the majestic Tatra Mountains and Zakopane itself. At the top, participants strolled through festive markets, sampled traditional dishes, and enjoyed hot chocolate and mulled wine, warming themselves not only with drinks but also with the joyful holiday atmosphere.
A particularly memorable moment was the sunset, as the mountains slowly sank into golden-pink hues. The descent took place on a special open-roof train, offering yet another opportunity to admire the scenery and capture these enchanting moments in memory and photographs.
The journey concluded in evening Zakopane—a city glowing with lights and filled with festive spirit, music, and the anticipation of Christmas. The students returned with souvenirs, traditional highlander cheese, and, most importantly, warm memories of a day that became a true winter miracle.
