On October 2, 2025, representatives of Kyiv Medical University participated in the All-Ukrainian Conference “University Space: Visions of the Future,” organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance in cooperation with the State University “Zhytomyr Polytechnic.”
The event brought together leaders of leading universities, experts, scientists, and educators from all regions of Ukraine to discuss key areas of development in the university space:
● Accessibility as the foundation of open and inclusive education;
● Functional aesthetics and identity – what shapes the unique brand of higher education institutions;
● Digitalization as a tool for modernization and innovation;
● Security as a necessary condition for the sustainable development of universities.
Our university was represented at the event by Yegor KUCHERENKO – Head of the Department of Psychology, Program Director of the “Clinical Psychology” educational program; Anastasiia POLISHCHUK – Expert of the Directorate for Education Affairs; and Yaroslav ZHDAN – student of the Faculty of Dentistry.
As part of the conference, a round table “The Time Demands: Innovations in Education” was held, where participants discussed modern approaches to management and the role of universities in community development. During the round table, Yegor KUCHERENKO proposed to the rectors and representatives of NAQA to optimize the teaching workload of academic staff as a core direction of innovation in education.
Based on his own experience working in various higher education institutions, Yegor Kucherenko noted that lecturers, both 20 years ago and today, are often forced to take on additional workload at other institutions instead of focusing on their primary place of employment with proper financial and academic security — a topic also highlighted in the presentation by Prof. Oleksandra LYASHENKO (Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University). He also suggested that in the future, discussions should include not only institutional identity but also personal academic branding and strategies to support its development across various universities.
The conference served as a platform for experience sharing and for shaping a common vision of future universities — open, innovative, secure, and student-oriented.
