NOSTRIFICATION OF A UKRAINIAN MEDICAL DIPLOMA IN POLAND

Nostrification (recognition) – is an official procedure aimed at comparing a foreign diploma with its Polish equivalent. It may be carried out in cases where a diploma confirming the completion of higher education abroad cannot be recognized as equivalent to the respective Polish diploma and professional title on the basis of any international agreement on equivalence (legal basis: Article 327(1) of the Act of 20 July 2018 of the Republic of Poland – Law on Higher Education and Science).
The rules for conducting the nostrification procedure are defined by the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland of 28 September 2018 “on the nostrification of diplomas of completion of higher education studies obtained abroad and confirmation of education at a specified level of education.”

Obtaining a diploma at the Polish Campus of KMU

Graduates of the university receive:

  • a doctor’s diploma (after 6 years of study), or
  • a dentist’s diploma (after 5 years of study).
These diplomas grant the right to the basic level of “doctor without specialization” or “dentist without specialization.”
Further specialization takes place within postgraduate training, and Polish citizens usually pursue it already in Poland.
Which institutions carry out nostrification?
The nostrification procedure is carried out by universities that hold a scientific category of A+, A, or B+ in the field to which the applicant’s foreign diploma belongs.
